Hello, Avalon Beach.
My name is Dr Nick Kulkarni, and I am so incredibly excited to welcome you and your loved ones to Avalon Beach Dental.
For the past 25 years, I have dedicated my life to the art and science of dentistry. My philosophy has always been simple and deeply personal: to treat every single patient with the exact same meticulous care, gentle touch and honest guidance that I would give to my own family members.
As a husband and father, coming to live, work and raise a family in the beautiful Avalon Beach community has been a long-held dream of ours. We have always loved the unique, relaxed spirit of the Northern Beaches and the genuine, warm connections between neighbours here. Those are exactly the human values we are bringing into our small, boutique, family-oriented practice.
While we are currently busy behind the scenes painting, polishing and preparing our space to reflect a calm, welcoming beachside feel, our focus is entirely on you.
We want to take the stress out of dental visits. Whether you are looking for routine preventative care for your children, or complex advanced care like dental implants, we are here to have a real conversation, listen to your needs and look after you properly, without confusing clinical jargon or cold paperwork.

Qualifications and training
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
- Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants), University of Sydney
- Master of Science in Prosthodontics
- Fellow, International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI)
- Advanced surgical residencies at the Misch Implant Institute (USA) and the Walpole Institute (UK)
Dr Nick Kulkarni has spent 25 years in dentistry, and has built his practice on a simple idea: dentistry is better when it starts with a real conversation.
He is a family man first. Outside the clinic his world revolves around his family, and as a proud dad to two teenage daughters he understands the busy rhythms, worries and needs of local families.
“Dentistry isn't a one-size-fits-all conveyor belt. My approach has always started the same way: by sitting down, listening to your story, and working out what is genuinely best for your life and your health.”
Before anything clinical happens, he wants to understand what is actually worrying you, and to explain what is going on in plain language. He takes his time over it, and he will not push you into a decision.
He is also a teacher. Through his training academy, Place Your First Implant, he regularly teaches other dentists advanced implant placement and sedation techniques, and he trains internationally to keep bringing current, evidence-based standards back to his own patients.
Dr Nick has advanced post-graduate qualifications and training in dental implants, and is just as happy talking you through a routine check-up as a complex case.

Dr Nick started a patient-education channel for one reason: too many people agree to dental treatment they do not really understand.
Using a simple whiteboard and everyday language, he explains what a treatment actually involves, why it is being recommended, and what your alternatives are, without the jargon.
